Stephanie was very clear that she had been very intentional about how she restored the castle and it was exactly as described. The outside and parts of the inside were restored but not updated so that we could really immerse ourselves in the history and truly feel the lives of the people who had lived there. When we were in need of a more modern break and some creature comforts, we escaped to the top floor where we lounged in the sunshine and the beautiful view. Thank you Stephanie for preserving this precious piece of history and for sharing it with us. Some advice is to bring your own pillow and blanket if you will be sleeping anywhere but on the top floor if you have any allergies. The castle is by its nature, damp and I'm sure it's impossible to keep the linens fresh especially in the rainy spring when we visited. Also bring some sturdy soled slippers/inside shoes for navigating the stairs.
