“This is a gorgeous little property. We met Diane as we arrived, she was so lovely and accommodating (nice little touch was the biscuits and doggy treats. The bedrooms were warm and comfortable, the kitchen/living area was small but well equipped (no cooking on holiday!). We will certainly go back to The Bothy next time we are in the area.”

“This was a very nice comfortable place. We had a little trouble finding it. Was easy to check in and out of. The only suggestion I would make was to put the exterior patio lights on a timer so that they turn off at night— if it’s hot and you have the window open then you have all the light from the patio. But it was very clean and comfortable.”

Maybe a baking sheet, smaller saucepan and a baking dish would have been useful - not a big deal!Lovely to be next to the beck, loads of birds to watch and interesting places to visit.Drive from The Tan Inn to Hawes not for the faint hearted, narrow and very steep.Noticed a funny mark in the oven which I couldn't clean so emailed the office and someone came the next day to clean it - excellent. “Had a lovely time staying here for a few days. We had a couple of places we had on our bucket list and this was a good base. Didn’t get a chance to see the arch near by by as it was raining.
Only advise would be to have a sign where the holiday homes are as we used the postcode and nav took us to road down the road. Thank you for loaning us your pass for the Beamish Living Museum, had a lovely day even though we got a little wet. ”

“The property was large and was a good base to use being about 20 minutes from a beach and about 10 minutes walk from a park with swings etc for the grandchildren. It was about 5 minutes drive from an Aldi and Lidl. ”

“Charming cottage, in a quiet location close to the Roman sites we wanted to visit along Hadrian's Wall. Stylish with comfortable beds and sofas and all we needed for self-catering - even solar garden lights for evening drink in sun. Lovely to be greeted with prosecco, beer and chocolates (thank you!) "Extremely poor service and stay. We were given a smaller room than we had asked for (images do not match the actual state of the room), and the air conditioner is broken; we were provided with fans but we do not have proper ventilation in our room, causing the room to be very hot and stuffy, and after taking a shower the room becomes very damp. Television does not work, and the fans aren't very good. There are also insect stains on the bedding. Service is misleading, we were told that our check out was at noon however we were urged to leave as soon as 11am came by, asking to charge us for overstaying in the hotel. Our belongings were held at the lobby as well because of this, and the staff were reluctant to return our belongings.
Extremely disappointed at the service and conditions of the hotel, will not recommend it to anyone."
