With its delightful front porch and front-facing stone chimney, its unassuming charm gives way to some unexpected magic inside. The views from the home are some of the grandest and diverse that any North Georgia mountain enthusiast could want. Sweeping long-range mountain views surround and pastoral farmlands and valleys dot the landscape in splendid detail. The home also overlooks historic Mercier Orchards whose row-upon-row of apple and peach trees give the hillside a supple texture. This multi-view visual celebration can be taken in from the home's many wonderful outdoor options. An ample deck offers plenty of seating and a dining table while cushy, deep-seat outdoor sofas and chairs will keep you kicking back for hours in the home's huge screened-in porch. Inside, Grand View is well-appointed with custom furniture and carefully chosen decorator-quality fabrics. A high-end kitchen with warm walnut cabinetry, newly installed solid-surface countertops call-out to all cooks, while barstools at the counter keep guests involved. A lovely wood-burning fire place is a perfect spot for reminiscing with your closest friends or family. Before the night falls, a large, open-air hot tub on the deck summons everyone to the most perfect spot for soaking in those North Georgia mountain views along with quality time. Perhaps the loft complete with an array of board games, an indoor shuffle board and air hockey table will inspire the “just one more” competition. When it's time to retire, Grand View's four bedrooms are quiet and private, all with their own doors. The master is on the main level and three additional bedrooms are all downstairs. The master has a king-sized bed, two additional rooms offer queen mattresses and the final bedrooms have two twin beds. Each is cozy and welcoming in lovingly chosen quilts and comforters. They were clear and communicative leading up to our stay and the little binder they have at that the cabin continues that, with a reliable guest services call line. This cabin was the one we originally booked, but had to be canceled due to safety issues. They gave us another cabin, 2x the size dubbed the Lonesome Dove property, for the same price. We really appreciated how clean, beautiful, and spacious the cabin was. And the complimentary watermelon. My only complaint would be the limited dinnerware - only 6 large plates, maybe 1 small bowl? But that's a tiny complaint. We went on the back porch and the screened porch. Door missing from screen porch. WE had to call guest services and request a door. We were told a couple of weeks before arrival that the fireplace was not in working order. The place is run down, dust build up and spider webs everywhere. Air hockey in game room was broken, they said they would come back and fix it but failed to do so. The other game, shuffle board I think, had no sand and did not function properly. The upstairs bathroom is tiny, hot, and lady bugs galore upstairs, live and dead. The couch and chairs and mattresses were very uncomfortable. I could continue listing issues, but I’ll just say we were very disappointed. Great View! Very comfortable house, with a great view. The house was well supplied with all the necessary kitchen and bath needs. The grill was gas and very user friendly. Location was good, with close access to the town, tourist activities and stores and restaurants.
