While a mid-sized sedan can navigate the private gravel road leading to the cabin, we recommend an SUV for added comfort due to some bumpy patches. Once you’re off the gravel road, you’ll find paved roads to downtown, hiking trails, and scenic spots. Blue Ridge also offers ample parking options, so driving is the best way to get around. Rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are limited in the area, so having your own vehicle is recommended. The cabin is equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi, perfect for remote work or streaming. A pack-n-play is available for families with young children. Please note the gravel road leading to the cabin can be bumpy; compact cars are not recommended. They were excellent hosts. Our trip was over New Years and was my wife and my wedding anniversary. They had a "Happy Anniversary Sign" up and left a bottle of champagne for us.We had 6 adults and 4 kids, aged 3-7, and it was great. The two levels allowed the kids to be downstairs while the adults enjoyed some calm upstairs. The house was well equipped with plenty of bath towels, beach/hot tub towels, and necessities. The hot tub was great! Heated up well, strong jets, fun lights. It comfortably sits 3-4, but we got six adults in at one point. It was a bit cramped but worked!The firepit out back was great and there was plentiful firewood. We had some fires inside in the fireplace as well, which was very nice.Coming from a city, the house is so quite and isolated from the outside world. There's only one other house within eyesight/earshot, across the small valley. They had their lights on, but we didn't see or hear anything. You could hear the wind through the trees, which was just lovely.The kitchen was also very well stocked. We are foodies, so we brought some items that it turns out we didn't really need. The kitchen has good knives, all the utensils, wine glasses, drinking glasses, cutting boards, pots, pans, tupperware, foil, plastic wrap, oil, and spices.
