We enjoyed our stay VERY much!! What a quaint hotel with a lot of history. Conveniently located downtown next to the locks and viewing area. Our room was exceptionally comfortable, spacious, and clean!! I LOVE the fact that our room on the 6th (top) floor only had 10 rooms as did the 5th floor. Very quiet!! The hotel staff was very friendly especially the front desk clerk at check in on July 3 and the bartender on the 4th of July! Someone was always cleaning….floors, windows, etc. We noticed and probably due to high volume of visitors for the 4th of July: no air conditioning in the lobby or bar and the breakfast items were sparse each morning. Another observation….we thought it strange to have a label (posted on the 6th floor) stating one must hold button to call the elevator.

The playground is very unsafe with the large slide almost completely disconnected from the top (all screws on left side disconnected and slide hanging off). They didn’t have any facial tissue in the room, not even an empty box. They didn’t have any cribs available for infants. This place left a lot to be desired, since we were only there for a night it was passable. The managers were kind but not terribly adept. Plus, it smelled like cigarettes by the desk and one of the rooms near it and the pool.
