Wonderful old lift. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good and tasty food but limited menu. Helpings generally too big. No alcohol (not a problem but we were not made aware of this when we booked). Room not what I would call 'a luxury double': no chairs and fairly cold especially during the first 2 weeks. Shower flooded bathroom, but spread of water could be contained by judicious placement of towels on the floor. Very noisy at times. Sometimes other guests but also a lot of building work going on right by the hotel. Not the hotel's fault but something to be aware of. Area was a bit dirty (building work) and Cairo is very polluted. Traffic is appalling, constant and incredibly noisy with almost constant use of horns - again not hotel's fault but something to be aware of. No idea what happens to the huge number of plastic water bottles - hopefully recycled. Truly wonderful hot chocolate.

This place is a great hotel to stay, the area is an old part of town but is a bargain of a stay, easy to get transportation to anywhere in town from the hotel.

This plane is definitely not a 4.5 star. I would never stay here again. Room was dirty, the floors seemed like they were never mopped, we got a non smoking room ( which Apparently was the only one on our floor ) and you could smell the smoke in the room. Breakfast was nasty and the food was cold.

Great hotel, Good location and friendly staff
The front desk staff checked me in early and answered all my queries immediately. The safe box in the room was out of serine and the hotel staff has it fixed within 15 minutes.
