Pros: The accommodation was not really to standard - public areas of the pub fine
Cons: The overall cleanliness of the bathroom and decoration of the room and window all could be improved
Location: Work commitment so had little time to see location
Ground floor public areas seemed fine - staff very nice - bedroom and bathroom - dirty shower had mould and dirty on shower base - no light bulb in bedroom - decoration dirty and scruffy patched wall paper window not painted and dirty when tried to open it- no instructions for TV - luck it came on - several plugs had been placed into two sockets seemed loose and over loaded.

Full of Character

If you are expecting The Ritz then this hotel is not for you. If you are looking for a good nights sleep in a comfy bed, a great breakfast, friendly staff, a nice location, value for money, relaxing bar area, free parking and a hotel that is full of character, then look no further. Ok it is a bit rough around the edges but no big deal as far as I'm concerned. This hotel is a work in progress with planned improvements. All depends on what floats your boat.

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly

Went for Straw Bear Festival. Falcon perfect location, good parking, BUT we followed sign and had to move chairs/tables to get into car park, to find there was another entrance! Staff great. Some serious re-furb much needed, esp carpets. Room had plaster off walls; curtains hanging from cable ties, you could only use if over 6'2" and could 'lift' across curtain rail; door that you had to 'wallop with your shoulder' to open and it was 'shaved' down to the chipboard/wood; window was rotten and couldn't be opened as painted 'shut', however the gaps around it were so big that it gave ventilation; one bedhead missing; noise from some sort of unit cutting in and out gave sleepless night; shower wouldn't turn off but (engineer) friend managed to fix it using a teaspoon (hadn't taken screwdriver for staying in B&B!). Place was heaving with 'young' folk and music shook our room, and there was vomit on the carpet on Sun morn., the 'ladies' was on the first floor where our rooms were and there was serious drinking going on all day/night, so unsurprising really. However, the room was clean with comfy chairs to relax, beds really comfy and clean. It was a festival w/e, and the price reflected the shortfalls. If you want a clean, comfy room with welcoming staff for the Festival and you can cope with the shortfalls, go for it. It was wonderfully quiet the next morning, there is no traffic noise and it is centrally placed.
