Once you've checked out all of the interesting sights in Maroma, there's a lot more to see in the surrounding area. Pick up the keys to a rental car, throw your luggage in the trunk and hit the road. These are some drives we think you'll enjoy:

• You'll find Tulum Mayan Ruins and lots more intriguing attractions in Tulum. From Maroma, it's roughly 50 miles away.
• Why not enjoy the best of Isla Mujeres too? Popular attractions in this vibrant city include North Beach. Isla Mujeres is roughly 40 miles from Maroma.
• Make your way to Progreso Beach for a day out in nature. Pack a picnic to enjoy or just relax and unwind. From Maroma, it's roughly 180 miles away.

If you don't have a driver's license issued in Mexico, then you might need to get an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country to be allowed to rent a car.
