This is the worst 5-star all-inclusive experience our family had during christmas. We did not have hot shower for three nights and the room has been freezing cold. We informed the hotel the first night and they kept sending maintenance people without fixing it. And whats worse, they did not really care about our problems. Everytime I called them, I need to explain the situation again. And what I got is 'we will send someone to fix' ' the hotel is fully booked so not possible to change the room' or 'this is the general problem'. The daily activities and restaurants are good but I think the room itself is the basic of which the problem and technicians visits, really bother our holiday mood.

The beach was in horrible condition as if you are swimming in coffee It isn't the hotel 's fault but it would have been nice if we warned about beach water condition before finalizing the booking of the trip

They’re out in the middle of the jungle. Unfortunately, there are three checkpoints just to get in. The access in and out is a bit difficult. Everything is far away. And worst of all, there’s no air conditioning in the lobby, in the restaurants, and much less in the rooms. Definitely never again. Without air conditioning, which is kind of the whole point when you’re trying to rest in your room or have something refreshing after the beach, whether in the hotel or anywhere else. We’re definitely not going back.

A little older property but very well maintained and staffed well. Excellent food.

I normally choose RIU Hotels & Resorts because of the excellent customer service, amenities, food, and overall experience. I have stayed at many RIU resorts around the world, and I have also visited Mexico many times. I’ve always found the people in Mexico to be friendly and welcoming, which is why my experience at Riu Tequila was especially disappointing. The food was good, and I want to give credit to the restaurant staff, who were friendly and pleasant. Unfortunately, my experience with most of the other staff was very different. I found several members of the staff, particularly at reception, to be rude and unhelpful. When I arrived, my room had not been properly cleaned. I noticed what appeared to be markings on the pillowcases from the previous guest, including the date they had left. I took a picture as proof. When I brought this issue to the reception staff, I felt that I was given a hard time rather than having my concern addressed professionally. The experience was frustrating enough that I eventually decided to put the “Do Not Disturb” sign on my door. Unfortunately, the housekeeping issues continued. On one occasion, dirty towels were simply folded and placed back instead of being replaced. I also encountered two cockroaches in my room, which was extremely unpleasant and concerning. That said, I do want to mention one positive experience: the Neon Party was great! It was a lot of fun. Overall, I’m very disappointed because I have normally had wonderful experiences
