This is the worst 5-star all-inclusive experience our family had during christmas. We did not have hot shower for three nights and the room has been freezing cold. We informed the hotel the first night and they kept sending maintenance people without fixing it. And whats worse, they did not really care about our problems. Everytime I called them, I need to explain the situation again. And what I got is 'we will send someone to fix' ' the hotel is fully booked so not possible to change the room' or 'this is the general problem'. The daily activities and restaurants are good but I think the room itself is the basic of which the problem and technicians visits, really bother our holiday mood.

I’ve stayed at other Riu properties and this one was such a disappointment. Easiest way to describe it, it was the motel 6 of the all inclusive resorts. Staff were friendly, it was clean, but there were 2 cockroaches in my room. There was no staff at the pools, so you had to go get your own drinks, which kinda sucked.. when you’re at an all inclusive and in vacation you enjoy being catered to!!! I guess used to all the other resorts (including other Riu’s) doing that. The air conditioner kept the room cool, but definitely NOT cold. All in all, it was an “ok” stay. The staff was very friendly, overall very clean (not including the roaches), but would say it was lower end resort and for the price. The drinks were definitely not worth what they charge in the price. I can almost guarantee the liquor is altered/watered down. I think if the price was lower to match the resort it is a pretty decent resort.
