Car Rental Miraflores

When you've checked out all of the fabulous sights in Miraflores, there's heaps more to explore in the region. Collect the keys to a rental car, stow your bags in the trunk and take to the open road. We've come up with some road trips we know you'll love:

• Make tracks to Puerto Plata for a fun-filled sightseeing adventure. About 100 miles from Miraflores, it's home to numerous great sights like Playa Dorada.
• About 100 miles away, Punta Cana is also a favorite with wanderers. Allow time to experience Bavaro Beach while you're here. It's one of the reasons people love this buzzing city.
• Get out into nature and appreciate the serenity at La Ensenada Beach. It's approximately 130 miles from Miraflores.

If you don't possess a driver's license issued in Dominican Republic, then you'll likely need to apply for an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence to be able to rent a car. Please also consider that if you do need an IDP, it has no validity on its own. You'll have to show your current license your passport and other forms of documentation as well. Lastly, it's important that the credit card used to book the rental vehicle matches the name on your driver's license and passport. Some other things to note for international car rentals are:

• Age restrictions: You'll need to be at least 25 in most places to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it may still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to the types of vehicles available to rent.
• Driving limitations: Make sure you read the fine print before driving away. Typically, you can't cross country borders, drive on ferries or go off-roading with a rental vehicle.
