Find hotels in Castellar from $65

The best area to stay in Castellar is the village center, particularly around the Place Georges Clemenceau and the streets immediately surrounding it.

This central area is the heart of the village, characterized by its narrow, winding cobblestone streets and traditional stone houses. It's where you'll find the local bakery, a few small shops, and the village's principal church. From here, you're just a short walk to viewpoints offering expansive vistas of the surrounding valleys and the Mediterranean Sea. Couples looking for a peaceful and authentic Provençal experience will find this area ideal due to its quiet atmosphere and scenic beauty.

For those desiring a bit more space and seclusion, especially families, staying in a villa or gîte just outside the main village on the terraced hillsides offers an excellent option. These accommodations often come with private gardens and pools, providing a relaxing retreat with stunning views.

The best time to visit Castellar is during the shoulder seasons of April to May and September to October when the weather is pleasant and the village is less crowded.

For those looking for comfortable temperatures for exploring the village and surrounding nature, spring offers blooming wildflowers and mild conditions, great for leisurely walks or enjoying a meal outdoors. The olive groves and terraced gardens are particularly beautiful during this time.

Couples who prefer a quieter, more intimate experience will appreciate the early fall.
