"I was greeted very rudely with the insístanse that my service dog was a pet. I was forced to sign intake papers that had the line stating that I acknowledged and accepted (illegal) pet charges for my service dog filled with my initials by the woman behind the desk. This interaction made my whole stay much more stressful than necessary. They illegally put us in a pet room and took away the room I wanted. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), you are not restricted to a pet room when staying at a motel with a service animal. Hotels cannot restrict service animal users to specific pet-friendly rooms, nor can they charge a pet fee, though you may be charged for damages Key Service Animal Regulations in Motels: Room Access: You must be given the same opportunities to book any available room as guests without pets. No "Pet" Designation: Service animals are not considered pets, so "no pet" policies and designated pet-friendly rooms do not apply to them. Fees: Hotels cannot charge a service animal cleaning fee, but they can charge for damages. Control: The animal must remain under your control at all times. Once they saw that my dog was an excellent service animal they conceded that she indeed was but there was no offer to restore my original reservation. The majority of the employees were pleasant enough but I am still waiting for the itemized invoice I requested and was promised. They are certainly not up to snuff for the Radisson name. "
