Dating back to the late 19th century, the Círculo de Bellas Artes is an iconic cultural center in the heart of Madrid. Recognizable by its tall, white tower, the structure has exhibition halls, concert auditoriums and a library, among other facilities. The cultural center’s current building was designed by Spanish architect Antonio Palacios and built in 1926. There is a fee to access the rooftop terrace, which is open daily from morning until past midnight.
To reach the Círculo de Bellas Artes, ride the metro to the Banco de España station in the heart of the city. You can also get a bus to a stop on the adjacent street. While you’re in the area, check out neighboring sights such as the Teatro Cofidis Alcázar, the Grassy Clock and Watch Museum and the Iglesia San José.
