“We were greeted with a handshake which is always a good start. Our hosts, Neil and Rosemarie were welcoming and eager to make sure our stay was a good one. Our room was spacious as was the bathroom and shower. We were pleased with the coffee machine and the fridge on the landing for the cold milk. The small touches are what makes this hotel a special one. The bar downstairs proved popular to watch the world cup and we appreciated the hospitality during the evening. Breakfast was cooked to……

“located in the small downtown Lyme Regis, easy to go to the beach, shops and restaurants it is an very old inn, very tradition english wooden building, downstair is the bar and restaurant, a bit oily smell, beware of no air-con”

“What a beautiful hotel. I stayed in a superior double which was very well appointed. The bed was very comfortable, plenty of storage space, fluffy towels, plenty of hot water and excellent tea and coffee, biscuits and water. The owners were very friendly and made me feel most welcome. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order and was delicious. You would never go hungry. The air conditioning was a real bonus, although unfortunately it did drip a little water on the floor. My only other niggles……

“We loved staying at Dukes. The staff were really warm and welcoming from start to finish. My husband remembers staying at Dukes when he was a child and wanted to share this with our children. Our only issue was that the room was very hot, but we were going through a heatwave, so that can't be helped. But maybe some fans in the room would have been helpful. Thank you for a lovely stay!”
