“Terrific, inventive, fun place, great roof terrace with DJ, very nice room, absolutely delightful staff and a great breakfast. Had been staying at an upmarket boutique hotel. Our flight home was cancelled after three hours on the tarmac and we scrambled to find a hotel for the night. Thrilled that we stumbled on the Modernist. Would definitely stay again. A great experience and a great value. ”
“It's a low-cost but very comfortable hotel.
--I got a fine deal but apparently it's available for as low as 70USD at times, which would be a steal.
--No reception desk but daily cleaning service and they replace your water and tea.
--Not in a tourist area so there is a nice selection of authentic restaurants and cafes nearby.
--Very quiet despite being on a major street and close to a hospital. Apparently the rooms are soundproofed.

“Place is quiet and cozy. Surrounded by restaurants and supermarkets. Just 2 things need to be improved: no slope in the entrance that people have to lite the luggage up to get in. Also staff provide with the wrong entrance code and I arrive but have to wait outside the door in the evening. Others are great.”
