Lovely location and garden and helpful staff. Breakfast waiting times during the weekend were very long. Recommend filling out forms with options the bight before and splitting the guests into time slots.

It was a special occasion for me and my girlfriend, So we booked a "Superior" room having seen pictures on the property profile of one with a four poster bed, we did not get that. Instead we got - A room with no heating, (Which turned out to be the fact it hadn't been turned on in reception) - Flies all over the window sills - Mold in the bathroom - No hot water from the basin tap Service was slow, and unproffesional. Sadly not a great experience for our special occasion.

As always Guyers House is clean, warm, convenient and excellent value for money. The staff are very helpful and even after a late return to the hotel they still put together some food last minute even without a booking for dinner. Breakfast service is leisurely which is not a problem unless you are in a hurry so give your self plenty of time for that. Very happy with my stay here this weekend and in the past. Certainly my go to hotel whenever I am visiting family in that area.

T.V had No Signal for BBC, ITV etc. …
Unfortunately, I booked with B/fast But a few days before I was due to stay I received an e-mail saying Kitchen closed so No B/fast We were offered a miserable Cold B/ fast continental instead and No Refund . The Receptionist says it was clear at time of booking but I had booked through hotel.com and filtered B/fast inc. !

Adequate
The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel is an old building so has the expected creaks and quirks. The service was perfunctory at best. The kutchen was closed for refurbishment when we stayed so no dinner available and breakfast was an "extended continenal" - this was not clear at the time of booking The breakfast was shoddy, soggy bread, prepackaged long life croussants, warm cheese and salami etc. No plates and i think we'd been sat for well over 10 minutes before anyone emerged to see if we wanted a tea /coffee. The hotel has good grounds and is in a very quiet location. I think the place just needs some love and it could be wonderful, but our stay was adequate.

Country Manor House a little rough around the edges but very nice, had the upgraded superior room which was very large the downside was the noise from reception could be heard and noises from freezer could be heard all night but I would stay again
