“Unfortunately I cannot post photos of the property but where to begin. When we arrived we were greeted with full bins and rubbish on the floor which we were told to pick up. The outside furniture is in a horrible state that I wouldn’t even let the kids sit on with the rust. The oven was in a disgusting state and the fridge door was broken. The state of the cottage was like nothing I’ve seen before. Which is very surprising considering that when you book this property you are then told that the……

“Had a great stay at mc courts cottage with the family . Lovely little charming irish cottage with over 200 year of history and hopefully many more . Kids loved playing in the garden and using the swing . What a fantastic location for getting out of busy life and totally relaxing in the mournes with the beautiful views . Hot tub was brilliant for un winding in the evening in a peaceful setting . Would definitely return to lazy evening in front of the little log burner .”

“Our only regret about choosing this charming property is that we were unable to stay longer! It was the perfect spot for our family to rest and restore after busy days seeing Northern Ireland. Esther is friendly and welcoming, the home was perfect and the nearby village had all the necessities.”

“The cottage was delightful! It isn’t a shared space, so the whole place was ours - so nice! I highly recommend this quaint town. It has cute shops and wonderful pubs in easy walking distance. The host was super helpful with anything we needed and the cottage is spotless. The parking was tight, but there are lots nearby if you aren’t comfortable with the curb parking.For future travelers from the arid American West, Europeans don’t use a top sheet and regulate their inner temperatures different……

Olivia is a wonderful host - she sent detailed instructions for the check in process, left a lovely welcome hamper for our arrival, was flexible with our needs on check out day and kindly mailed an item we left behind to us after our stay! “A truly wonderful find! Quiet, convenient, clean well appointed cottage, with attentive, friendly hosts. Good parking, near enough (by car) to the Mourne Mountains, Murlough, Tyrella and Ballykinler beaches and Newcastle. About a 45 min drive from Belfast. A great haven for peaceful outdoor pursuits or just getting away from it all. Will happily stay again! ”

“Nice place but facilities more than a little varied. No wooden spoons, but most bizarrely of all no freezer compartment in the fridge yet there was a wine fridge! Incorrect priorities there I'm afraid. You couldn't keep your lolly's in the wine fridge!”
