Breakfast was also top notch and the bacon was particularly good. The room was a delight - well furnished and a very comfortable bed. “We had seen mixed reviews about other people's stays and were a bit apprehensive about what to expect. We could NOT have had a more fantastic stay. Staff were extremely attentive and welcoming especially Veejay( the manager), Gary, Anne and Nadine. We are a family of 6 ( 3 adult couples) and it was the perfect highland base for exploring the area. Food was fresh and was made from scratch. Leave time for leisurely meals. Specially props for breakfast pancakes. Rooms were spacious and beds……

“We stayed here in May 2025 and really enjoyed it. This time we booked a sea view feature room to celebrate our 40th anniversary. It had an amazing view of the rock pools and the en-suite had a freestanding copper bathtub. We were going to watch some of the World Cup highlights on the TV in our room however it didn’t have BBC iPlayer or itvx however we did bring a chromecast device to connect Netflix and iPlayer from our iPhone but unfortunately on the very last part of connection “something went……

“The hotel is extremely dated. Note that there is a large annex, so if you are in a “garden” room, you are not staying in the castle, it is an outdated 1980s annex. The bathroom had a sink that had been broken and poorly glued back together and a very dirty fan. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and could have used a mattress topper. You feel every spring in the mattress. The entire hotel also had a very musty smell. The actual castle portion has potential to be very beautiful, but some……
