“Charming, friendly staff. Comfortable well appointed accommodation, though room in older part of building a little “tired “ in some areas. Excellent choice at breakfast exceeds the norm for this grade of hotel. Shuttle bus to/fro town is a very welcome extra in this hilly location.”

“Staff, accommodation and food were great, though staying for 10 days we virtually had every dish from The Ocean menu! It did get a bit boring! The Mexican restaurant was very noisy and service was poor, and we only went there once because of that. Disappointed that we weren’t told beforehand about the lack of Spa activities due to staff illness. We were looking forward to the odd experience and they were not available unless we went into St Peter Port. The road closure was also a problem which……

“The room has lovely sea views but the carpet is heavily stained and the decor generally quite tired. The room was also incredibly hot despite being offered a fan by the helpful staff. It is a great hindrance that the windows cannot be opened more than a few inches. For a hotel of this reputation and in this price range, air conditioning should be incorporated throughout. The ground floor area and amenities like the pool are wonderful, as are the friendly staff. The fabric of the hotel (e.g.……

“Such a beautiful location, we had a small double room which had a sea view, it had everything we needed, water, tea , coffee etc which was topped up every day ,along with shampoos etc, and our bed made too . The staff are so friendly and helpful. Great breakfast selection and also in the restaurant in the evening . Lovely bar to sit and relax in after a day out exploring. It was great we could take our dog with us too. We had our car but you easily go anywhere by bus which stopped right……
