It's conveniently located with plenty of affordable dining options and markets nearby. It's a nice 30-minute stroll to the city center or to the Thames River. The 2 bedroom place itself was nicely remodeled. The city could do a better job maintaining the sidewalks.

The space was great, especially the sitting room area. We really enjoyed our stay here except for one odd thing - the property manager scheduled carpet cleaning for the middle of our 2 night stay. I don't normally check my email while on vacation, but I just happened to check and saw a message that carpet cleaners would be coming. There is not a safe at the property and even if we locked our travel documents in our suitcases, there's nothing stopping a thief from taking the whole suitcase. So we...

We booked the Swan Inn for a night’s stay before boarding our cruise.
The rooms were comfortable and nicely appointed. There was a pub nearby via taxi for dinner.
We had some light snacks and beer in the bar before retiring for the night.
We will certainly consider The Swan for our next stay in Southampton.
