The Oriental Hotel was very comfortable and attractive with lovely views of the bay or mountains. The staff were extremely helpful, pleasant and overall very charming. What a great place... Everything was great! As a ryokan, the room was Japanese style, no shoes. The staff was not very conversant in English...enough to get by... and it could NOT have been better. The onsens were fantastic, eating in our yakatas a true experience. At dinner, the staff knew about our allergies and dislikes. The unbelievably wonderful waitress from Vietnam (I foolishly didn't get her name.) assured us at the beginning of our multi course meal that she and they would take care of...

Absolutely magical experience. From beginning to end the entire place was set up with thoughtful consideration to make our stay as luxurious and enjoyable as possible. The facilities are stunning, the gardens magical, the food unforgettable, and the guest onsens so relaxing. So glad I made this reservation!

Location, The Design is truly lovely! Every amenity is perfection. We are architects and the collection of books in the Library/ Lobby was exceptional. If you value attention to detail as we do this will be the place for you!

Great location for Osaka. Many things are walkable and those that aren’t the train station is just a few minutes away. The hotel is great and rooms are good sized. The breakfast buffet is decent

The hotel is stunning!! We were traveling for a very special occasion, and the hotel sent us a special gift that consisted of three sets of chopsticks, cookies, and a voucher for a drink at their beautiful bar. This was very thoughtful, and we really appreciated it. There were 6 bottles of water refilled every morning and a ton of high-quality facial products, including bath salts for the tub. The location of this hotel is fantastic, close to everything, including the metro.

Excellent property and staff. The afternoon sweets and cocktails should not be missed. Note, they stop admitting people about 30 minutes before closing time so give yourself some extra time.

I had a great stay at THE GATE Hotel in Kyoto! The property is modern, clean, and well-maintained. One of the highlights is definitely the top floor, where the reception and bar are located—it offers a stunning panoramic view of the city, especially at sunset. The location is super convenient, just a short walk from the train station and close to several local attractions, which made it easy to explore Kyoto. Overall, a comfortable and stylish place to stay. I’d definitely come back!

This hotel is fabulous. The rooms are stylish and the location could not be better. It is right next to a subway station and an easy trip from Kyoto station. The breakfast is tasty with many choices. The rooms are a little on the small side for Americans...we are from New York City so pretty typical for NYC standards. Would 100% stay here again. Five star for food, design, location, and service.

Great location, short travel to USJ. Wonderful staff, everyone is so polite at the hotel. Most likely, I will stay here again when I visit USJ again, granted I wasn't able to use their onsen due to my tattoos.
