Clean and polite staff. Have already booked another stay. The room layout is really nice.

Overall. This is a well run establishment. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is quite nice. The pool is clean and well-maintained and excellent. So, all in all I'm happy. That said, I have 2 issues. 1. the breakfast is quite lame. It's basically just sugar. There's no protein like eggs or sausage or anything. Everything is just sugar sugar sugar. 2. There is no place to hang anything in the room. There is no hook on the back of the door to hang a bathroom travel kit for example. There's no place to hang up a shirt to keep it nice. There's no place to hang a wet towel after going to the swimming pool. The lack of hooks seems minor but it makes the visit quite inconvenient. If you're going to stay in this room for more than one night, where do you put things? What amazes me most about this problem is that it's so easy to fix. I'm sure a hook in the bathroom cost less than five dollars. What about a bar with hangers? It's funny, because there is an iron and an ironing board but then no place to hang up your freshly ironed clothes. What are you supposed to do… Iron your clothes and then throw them on the floor? It makes me think that whoever designed this room Has never actually stayed in a hotel room. For frequent travelers, the ability to hang up our clothes to dry and air out and get the wrinkles out is vital. The ability to hang up a travel bathroom kit in the bathroom is vital. Come on guys. You can do better.

Wonderful Stay – Great Staff & Family-Friendly Experience We had an amazing stay at Holiday Inn Express Cortez during our road trip, and I truly can’t recommend it enough. The staff was fantastic throughout — attentive, kind, and always willing to help. We were traveling with our 5-month-old baby, and they went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. A special shoutout to the front desk staff at check-in — especially the Indian gentleman who welcomed us. He was incredibly helpful, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed, including an extra bed for our baby. That kind of care really stood out. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and we loved that the hot bath was available until midnight — it was a perfect way to relax after a long day of travel and exploring. Breakfast was also great overall. The Day 2 breakfast server deserves a big shoutout — she was proactive, kept everything clean and well-stocked, and made the morning feel welcoming. However, the Day 1 breakfast server seemed visibly irritated even with basic requests like refilling the pancake mix — a small hiccup in an otherwise fantastic experience. Every interaction with the front desk during our stay was pleasant and helpful. The team here really understands hospitality. We will absolutely stay here again if we’re ever in the area. Highly recommended for families and travelers alike!
