This was our third year spending Christmas here and once again we loved it. The location is ideal, just off the Royal Mile, and the apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay — it really was a perfect Christmas. We were especially grateful that the team kindly allowed us to check in and access the apartment a little earlier, which made a big difference. The only very small disappointment this time, was that we didn’t get our usual apartment facing Arthur’s Seat — something we’ll be sure to request next time. I think the wreath on the door is a lovely touch, but it would have been nice to have a small little tree inside the apartment even if it is just on the table. There was plenty of room, and the full kitchen allowed us to decide when to eat out versus making something for ourselves. The combo washer/dryer also allowed for a simple clothing refresh when needed. The bedroom/loft was not ideal to access for the over 60 crowd. ONLY downside is there’s no lift (old building!), and the stairs are a killer with lots of luggage. There are several flights of stairs, but is to be expected in this repurposed church building. So worth the climb! There is a fabulous Scottish tour company within footsteps that we used for a day trip to see castles. Beds were comfortable and the 2-full bathrooms were appreciated. Super responsive host with questions regarding luggage storage before and after stay.
