We stayed in a standard room which was decent in size with a lovely en suite. My only complaint was cleanliness and there was an awful drain smell from the bathroom the whole of our stay. The room was small and cosy and suited our needs perfectly, Perfectly located to local transport hubs so made travel very easy. Condition was the only mark down as towards the ceiling of the room could do with some love but thats more to the height and age of the building more than anything ! The bed was dreadfully uncomfortable. Pillows we're so flat . sheets weren't clean . Its a very run-down little room . Badly presented and dirty . No inhouse maid either. Bed wasn't made up. Bins emptied or room/bathroom cleaned during our stay . All in all i trusted the hotels photos on the hotel site. We choose this also on the basis it was close to the hospital . If we didnt have to stay the 2 nights . Just looking for a bit of comfort / safe & clean. Definitely didnt find it here . Such a shame !! . ![So Dirty in the shower cubicle was not nice to use at all :(. Glass had soap scum. Base was not clean and the drainage was slow on the shower sink and the toilet. We also had sanitiser sachets available which came in handy. Room was ok but a few areas hadn't been cleaned. We had blood stains on the curtains which freaked us out a bit. The building itself is a bit maze-like, but the rooms are huge and you get good value for money. We stayed for a couple of good weather days (rare in Scotland) and unfortunately we experienced the rooms as very warm as only one of the windows could be opened a little. We’d also really wish there was a mini fridge there to keep drinks/food cold. The shower is very sensitive so be careful not to scold yourself!
