“The room was spacious and well furnished. The fabric covered headboard made a real impact as you walked in. The bathroom was sparklingly clean. Real thought had gone into what makes guests feel at home and what utensils they would need to prepare food if necessary. The wine glasses were a nice touch! There was even a breakfast bar where you could sit and look out over the street. Plentiful supply of electric plugs (so useful when you have phones and iPads etc.) Check-in worked perfectly...

“We really enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and comfortable and had everything we needed. The kitchenette was really useful and there is a supermarket a few minutes walk away if you don’t want to go out for a meal. Access via code was really easy and there was plenty of parking close by. My messages were answered quickly and I was provided with all the information I needed in advance of our arrival. We will definitely be back next till we are in the area ”

“The staff were lovely and helpful but we had booked there as there was food available. However when we got there we were told food only on Sundays. ”

“Staff were brilliant I have had breakfast before and fantastic plenty to eat Bar. And outside area great lots of room Sad to say it all needs updating up stairs. All bathrooms need updating and decor and carpets need gone. Definitely the WiFi needs sorting out so you can get on it when you are in your room I wanted to chill out and watch Netflix but no internet Apart from that always a lovely stay and they accept dogs which is fab”

“Stayed here a number of times. It's perfect for a quiet retreat with no distractions such as TV or phones. Owner tim is always on hand polite and helpful. Highly recommend the place.”

“Did not appreciate a separate bathroom from our bedroom. We booked 12 months in advance and I am sure that I would not have booked if I had noticed that. Our room was situated at the top of the stairs which meant other guests walking past possibly as you were heading to have or return from a shower. Our room could also be seen from a public area (a small corridor from the main bar to the beer garden) which is not good especially for a woman. The hosts went out of their way to find us...

“We really enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse: quiet bucolic location, handsome and spotless, well-maintained house, We stayed in the Tweed room which was spacious and had everything we needed (including an excellent high pressure shower!). Peter and Sheila were great hosts and cooked breakfast to order each day and made sure we had everything we needed. Would happily return!”
