Fisherman's Cottage

Our calendar is updated in real-time & our nightly rates are accurately displayed. Simply enter your desired dates and click 'Book Now!'

This snug Florence vacation rental is perfect for a romantic getaway for two or a solo retreat to the coast. Adorably provincial, this rustic cottage near beautiful Heceta Beach is a quaint little spot to enjoy a relaxing beach vacation year-round.

Beach access at Driftwood Shores Resort, which also includes the Surfside Restaurant, is only one block away. Head down to the shore and fly a kite or watch for whales in the winter and spring. A short and scenic drive south along highway 101, will take you to the stunning Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. Watch off road vehicles navigate the sweeping dunes, hike around, or capture some amazing photographs to share with your friends.

The interior of the cottage features soothing colors and reclaimed wood accents. This freestanding cabin includes a small sitting area with a rich brown leather couch and a TV with a DVD player. After a day of exploring the nearby ocean shore, you can pop some popcorn and snuggle into the couch for a cozy movie night.

When it's time for a bite to eat, the kitchenette is equipped with a microwave, mini-fridge, and a small dining area - ideal for heating up leftovers, small breakfasts, or enjoying take-out feasts. There's also a coffee maker if you don't feel up to trekking into town for a caffeine fix. A variety of restaurants is at hand in historic Old Town Florence, just a six-mile drive away. Enjoy fish and chips and chowder at Mo's, crab-encrusted halibut at the Waterfront Depot Restaurant, or caesar salads and grilled Coho salmon at La Pomodori Ristorante. There are also a number of galleries to browse, shops to explore, and even the Siuslaw Pioneer Museum for learning about the area's history.

Sleep may be the last thing on your mind during your fun-filled vacation, but if you find yourself nodding off there is a full-sized bed tucked away in a peaceful nook. A small bathroom is just a few steps away with a shower, and a second sink located right outside for added convenience. If the bathroom is occupied by your companion, there'll be no wait to brush your teeth or wash your face at the end of the day!

This charming beach-shack style cottage will comfortably sleep up to two guests, as well as one canine guest (though a nightly fee per dog and a minimum fee per stay will apply). Other amenities include an outdoor fire pit for evenings of roasting marshmallows and making s'mores!

This quintessential cottage offers exactly the low-profile comfort you are looking for when you plan a private and relaxing escape to the South Oregon Coast!

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 1 vehicle.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The info was misleading, making it seem like i had a view of the ovlcean and being able to walk to the ocean. The bathroom was moldy and the ant infestation was a little concerning.

Beach shack
Near the beach, short walk was no problem. Definitely a beach shack, perfect for us! Well laid out, very easy to get comfortable, Altho the floor is concrete so took a while to warm up the place. Also the sheets were crusty :/ and we had to change them, but they had extras east to find. They seemed laundered, but not clean. We would stay again, but we like quirky little shacks :) The most uncomfortable part was communication with Vacasa. A little expensive for what you get, with all the fees.

Home away from home!
We loved our stay! It was clean and had everything we could have possibly needed! There were some cobwebs and some spiders, but that was to be expected and added to the whole vibe. We appreciated having some movies to watch while we were there!

Disgusting
We had to change the blood soiled sheets upon arrival. There were dead bugs and moss growing in the window sills. Windows that either had no curtain or stained from tobacoo. Every surface had a layer of dust and the floor had clearly not been mopped in a while. I will never stay at a Vacasa rental again.

Needs electrical work and a DEEP Clean
This is NOT on the beach as picture eludes to. Dead flys on the sticky floor and live spiders. Electrical outlets and extension cords broken and not safe. TOO Rustic with holes in the old wood door and inch gap at bottom. Hot water faucet leaks a lot! If it were 90;00 w/o fees that would be ok, but NOT 205.00! Wouldn't recommend until all the above is fixed or replaced!

The bed was filthy and had stains. We were forced to have to get a whole new sheet and cover set from Fred Meyers. There was a leak in the house somewhere as the mattress was soaked at the top. Bed was very uncomfortable and the WiFi service was terrible. The company that manages the property had someone patrolling that was very rude too… I wouldn’t stay again, the nice parts were location and the small gated yard for my pup.

Rustic and not quite ready
My sister and I spent 5 days/4 nights with a half a roll of 1ply toilet paper, yes there was a coffee pot BUT no filters or coffee cups, no sharp knife, a tv with no channels available, and a cement floor (cold) that the owner wanted us to take our shoes off for.

Great rustic stay
Property was good, remote. Little overgrown w/weeds but quaint in the fenced yard. Just need to look into outlet problems on each side of bed, as not functioning. Love all the little kitchen amenities.

Not a place for seniors (or others)
This place is really small did not smell very good had ants crawling all over. The ground is very uneven around this property with a dropoff off into the alley (fell down walking around my truck parking is not easy if you have a short trailer. The bathroom is tiny had to leave the door open when sitting on the toilet and it was difficult to enter because of a step up and there is no vent in the bathroom. Gates entering the property are falling apart no curtains in the windows for privacy had I had a choice no more than one night. We checked into the lighthouse motel it is cheaper and rooms are larger definatly a NO or this place.

Beach Cottage….
The cottage has easy access to beach. Unfortunately the property isn’t well maintained. It’s also very loud if guests are staying at the main beach house.

Cute basic place
We enjoyed our stay! Our only real complaint is the extremely weak internet service. There were 4 (out of a total of about 8) lights that didn’t work which we suspected were needing new bulbs. The lack of cell coverage and internet made communicating with the property manager difficult. We ended up giving up on trying to connect and get bulbs replaced after the first day. All in all we liked the place!

Fisherman’s Cottage in January
It was pretty much what I was looking for, a low-key place to crash while at the winter music fest. But it being January, it was a little chilly, and this is probably a converted garage, with great character, but no insulation. There are a couple space heaters provided, and they’re adequate if you’re not just hanging out here and wanting to be comfortable.

Fisherman's Shack Stay
This place was as described, well priced and cozy. Great location and nice touch to have cooking appliances like microwave oven, instapot, microwave, with the lack of a kitxhen. There isn't cable or a way to stream on the TV but there is a DVD player and a couple dvds. A few minor issues... One of the space heaters wasn't working and it was very cold at night. About half the outlets didn't work and the cell service was not good. . It is truly a shack but still very cute and good for a home base while in Florence. I'd stay again.
