"The hotel was great, perfect location and very clean. The only downside is the parking, we struggled to find anywhere to park nearby as all the car parks were full. "

"First time we had stayed in a Holiday Inn, chose it because they accept dogs. Very welcoming, efficient and friendly staff, clean room with everything we needed and comfortable beds. Delicious breakfast with a lot of choice. "

"This is the best hotel I've stayed in in York and I've stayed in quite a few. Great front desk service, gorgeous decor, lovely room - great decor, comfy bed, lush pillows, nice lighting, powerful shower, blackout curtains, functioning air con / fan / heating system. The school parking is less than 100m walk from the front desk so is no bother to use. Easy access to city centre by uber, walk or bus. Will stay again."

"We were met after a long drive by the manager Chris who was absolutely fantastic! He was so friendly and made a big fuss of our daughters who loved him! The room was compact but perfect for a 2 night stay. Bathroom was spotless. Breakfast the next day was good with several cold choices, the standard hot options - all of which were replenished during breakfast hours. All staff were very warm and welcoming- we would stay again. Yes the room could have been bigger but it was a great excuse to all jump into bed in our pjs at the end of a long couple of days! Rates were reasonable too. "

"Lovely hotel, perfect location - short walk along tow path to city centre. Large room and lovely bathroom. Excellent breakfast with particularly friendly staff - only one minor point is that none of the salt and pepper grinders we tried actually grind - possibly a known issue as there were sachets also available. Also witnessed that this hotel is very welcoming for dogs and has lots of things for young children to play with in the reception area."
