Within walking distance of everything!

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: Hampton Inn is on the top of our list & has a luxurious feel at a reasonable cost. Their breakfast offers lots of options and is filling.
Location: Ober Tram/ Ski Village Amusements. Pay once, get hand stamped, go as many times as you want. We used ours all 3 days. Go at night to see city lights!
Very reasonable room price and fantastic breakfast plus free parking were just the beginning. Our main goal was the Ober Tram &Ski Village Amusements. Good family fun. We were delighted to find out we were right next door to it on the main street (441) near stoplight #10. We had a balcony over looking the river. Wonderful pool/jacuzzi area . We could walk everywhere we wanted to see in Gatlinburg. With parking hard to find or costly that was a big plus! All best shopping within a 4-5 block walk. Great restaurants & shops on our block. Be sure to check up coming events. We had street performers at night. Great fun! Gatlinburg is a one of a kind town that we love going back to. Even though we were off of the main street our room was quiet.

Pillows smell of Sewer Gas

Pillows stunk. Got there the room was terribly warm. 200 a night and slept on stinky pillows. The front desk said they couldn't do anything. They were out. No apologies. No solutions.

My stay was very nice. The hotel was slightly dated but then again this isn't a five star hotel so it fully met my expectations. Parking wasn't an issue but was pretty limited. There was a lot to do within walking distance. I would definitely not hesitate to make reservations here again. The pool wasn't heated and was very chilly so I spent time in the hot tub. I made reservations online and had no issues.

Perfect Location!! Everything was just right.

Pros: Everything. Even crushed ice in the ice machine! Nice.
Location: Ober Gatlinburg Skylift, watch the taffy-pulling, taste-test the moonshine, I think the best Ripley's Aquarium, and Chimney Tops trail to climb on rox
Check in was quick and easy, very polite employees...from the front desk, the morning caterer/cook, to the groundskeeper and the housekeepers...you're greeted with a smile, and a hearty "Good Morning" and "Have a great day". The room was just like pictured. The location is probably the best, because you are on the most fun, most updated end of Gatlinburg. So the best shops and activities are just a short walk away, or the park entrance is just a short car ride. This place has a great breakfast packed with hot and cold foods. When I asked the type of fruit was...the young man in charge of breakfast went to make sure, told me it was papaya, then offered to bring me a bowl of just papaya! How sweet. We will definitely be back. Be sure to go to the Welcome Center in the park, then drive to the Chimney Top trail. No, you don't have to hike the strenuous 4.6 miles, but if you'll just go about 1/4 of a mile, you'll cross over a beautiful bridge, then you can climb out onto some huge rocks, right in the middle of a rushing mountain stream. The experience is magical.
