This old hotel has a lot of character and soul, it does creak at night, and the noise from the interstate woke me up a couple of times but those can’t be avoided. Parking was easy to find, this place is literally the first thing you see as you get off I-70 east. Breakfast is self serve and even though I’m not gluten intolerant I was very happy to see they had quiches for people who may be. Its leaning however the owner has made every effort to make it comfortable and cozy. Tiny details everywhere to make your stay comfortable. The bed was comfortable. We were initially surprised and cautious but we had a restfull quiet night. Being in this historic hotel and town with all the stories made the stay even better. The owner/proprietor made me feel at home. We had great homemade cookies, muffins, and breakfast burritos. Her knowledge of the hotel history and who had stayed there in the past was incredible. Such as Edison and Tesla as past guests. I plan to stay again whenever I’m in the area. Next time will be a longer stay. I saw a show at Red Rocks and didn't want to stay the right next to the venue. I found this wonderful little place just a 1/2 hour down the road, closer to where I'm living.
