“Such a beautiful property with staff that could not do enough for us. We had Neptune and there was more than enough room for the 4 of us. The pool and sun-beds get a nice hit of sun from late morning onwards in August. The property is situated in the North West of the island away from the strip on the east side and the harbour. There are plenty of amenities within easy reach from here. Bike hire, an M Mart and laundry. Would recommend getting a horse and cart when you first arrive on the island……

“Gili Eco Villas is an excellent place to stay! The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming and were very attentive. (Shout-out to Yogi for finding someone to repair a torn zipper on one of our large bags.) Our two-room villa was very comfortable, clean, and quiet. The two pools are very nice and the beach is right there. Being at the north end of the island, it was easy to follow the beach a little way east to see the sunrise or a little way west to see the sunset. We rented bikes right there……

“Very nice stay on Gili T. This hotel is located on the west end of the island which is quieter and less rowdy. I walked here from the pier in 30 mins with my luggage by cutting through the middle of the island. There isn't a beach here, rather just a wall where the waves hit, and you're separated by the road. Staff is kind, especially the two ladies in the front reception and I had a great balinese massage by a sweet masseuse. Live music every night from fantastic musicians. Breakfast is ordered……

“The room, although clearly beautiful once, was VERY tired and in need of basic maintenance. The thatched roof had visible holes, some floor planks were visibly rotting and crumbled underfoot (perhaps due to water damage from inadequate roof?) All painted surfaces were badly in need of attention. There were disgusting ‘marks’ on the tiles in the shower and I would not use bare-footed. Also found a rotted potato in my bedside table. No fridge (the only room without one in our one-month……
