This was our first time going to Ottawa, the Sheraton was like a good location for a reasonable price. We got a room on the 11th floor, unfortunately our view was of a high-rise office building with floor to ceiling windows. The room was nice enough, very good sized and the bed was comfortable. The carpet did not look the cleanest, and the bathroom was quite basic for almost $200 a night. The employees were very friendly and welcoming, they allowed us to check in 2 hours early since our flight arrived early in the day. They also were happy to hold our bags for us on the last day until our flight home, which was really nice. Definitely add the breakfast onto your fee, it’s well worth the added cost. The breakfast serving staff were exceptional, very attentive and friendly. Food was delicious. Overall it was a satisfactory experience, considering the price and our length of stay! I would book again.

We opted for the Gold plan and loved it! Breakfast was included, small plate appetizers and canapés and then dessert served in an exclusive common room from 5:00. Excellent service. But the hotel needs some refurbishing and updating. The desk chair in our room was literally shredded. This is a premium property. A wonderful and historic and perfectly located hotel. The Fairmount needs to give it some love.

Overall stay and amenities at the Brookstreet were great, along with friendly and accommodating staff. Quick and easy check in, underground protected parking is available and accessible as well. However, I would suggest that the hotel not allow pets at this hotel, it's far too nice a property to have it demeaned by barking dogs during my stay on several occasions during the evening hours, due to disrespectful dog owners allowing their animals to be left unattended. These disrespectful dog owners bring down the great reputation the Brookstreet Hotel has.
