"I liked this hotel very much. It had a lot of charm for being an older hotel. There were some good restaurants right in the neighborhood. The staff was very nice and helpful especially with recommendations and directions. I would really like to stay here again on my next trip to Portland!"

"We had an amazing stay at The Orchard House. The pictures do not do it justice. It is beautiful and special. We stayed in the Library Room. Very unique and spacious for 2 people. I am in love with the bed/mattress! The light breakfast served (coffee/tea, cereal, boiled eggs, juice, toast.etc) was perfect and a great way to start the day. The owner Bill (and his Mom Lynn owner of the vintage shop Folly) are fabulous. And the dogs, Bingo and Bay are the icing on the cake. Would definitely...

"We were shocked at the prices for hotels in Portland (in my opinion a way, overrated town) so we stayed here primarily because of price. But it's a nice gem worth considering. Room was comfortable. Breakfast nice. Host welcoming. And walking distance to the Freeport outlets and across from that now-famous McDonald's located in a historic house. Definitely eat at the Jameson Tavern (walking). One of the best burgers we've had, great fries too. (If you are tired of lobster and high prices)."

"We enjoyed our overnight stay. The young owners were gracious and interesting to talk with. We would have liked to have directions printed out for use of the TV and heating/cooling system in our room. The bed was comfortable and the entire place was very clean. "The kitchen was very well equipped. Living room was so cozy with the fire. Bed was super comfortable. The unit has really tall ceilings and is cozy. Only issue was the dog upstairs. They kept barking and whining."
