The hotel is older but has heritage and a great vibe because of it, and is very clean. The service was excellent as well. Very far up in the mountains will be very expensive taxi I would recommend taking bus or tram. Facility is not the cleanest and rooms aren’t the nicest but the price is very good for what you get. Only major complaint is the pillows which are just bags with rice lol."

"Spacious and modern property with friendly and helpful staffs. My room was essentially a massive studio apartment with separate toilet and shower, stove, living room area, microwave, fridge, AC. and air humidifier. I also had a balcony with foliage view November. The onsen is very clean with indoor and outdoor tub. The outdoor area also has a foliage view, perfect for relaxing after a full day exploring Hakone. The location is about 40 minute away by bus from Hakone, but the amenities were worth it for me. There is a 7-11 right across the hotel for any last minute needs or late night snack. There are also some restaurants within walking distance. I tried the izakaya next to 7-11 and thought it was ok. The breakfast buffet is small but had good food and service. I would like more options and rotating menus throughout the week however. "
