Centrally located Harpers Ferry spot

Located right in the main road of town in Harpers Ferry this lil quaint spot has all the amenities needed to make your stay enjoyable. Centrally located for both on foot and in-car activities, Harper’s Ferry is quite enchanting. Everyone there was very pleasant. If you’re looking for a very chilled and relaxing time along with good food and a big dose of history- highly recommend the location including 1799 Inn. Parking Can be a bit of a thing but, where there’s a will there’s a way!

Charming little apartment perfectly located within walking distance of everything we wanted to see and do in Harper’s Ferry. We parked the car across the street on Thursday and never moved it until we left to come home. We loved being able to relax in the living area and cook a few meals in the well equipped kitchen. Loved all of the recommendations, check in and check out instructions made available in the guidebook which was emailed to us weeks prior to our stay. Very helpful in making the most of our weekend. Thank you!

perfect location for Harpers Ferry

this location was absolutely perfect for my son and I trip to Harper ferry. We knew we wanted to be right in lower town near the old buildings and the river and it didn’t disappoint. Well lower town doesn’t offer a wide variety of restaurants that stay open super late. The ones that do are more than adequate. I highly recommend stopping by the rabbit hole and battleground coffee. The only thing I will say about this VRBO is that if you were over 6 feet tall, you may feel a little claustrophobic since the ceilings are a little low, but that is understandable for a building this old.

We paid a cleaning fee - it wasn't clean

I don't usually write negative reviews. Check my Yelp and Trip Advisor accounts - you'll see what I say is so. That said, let me start with the positives of 1799 Inn. First time visitors to the town, It was convenient to all the best of the town of Harper's Ferry. Walking or easy drive to the best local eats and drinks. It also included free parking. The owner said if we had problems at arrival to call. We had trouble with the keyless loct and when we called, we got voice mail. We eventually resolved the problem. In my world as a hospitality specialist, the owner would have called just to check in. It was evening by the time we arrived and after a long day of travel we went off to dinner. In the morning and by the light of day, we could see that the unit was less than clean. And, no, we didn't call anyone. We could manage. However, we did take photos. So after we left, we sent an email to the owner. We politiely shared all the positives. And then we explained that the unit hadn't quite met our expectations in the clean department. We didn't ask for any refund but simply said the housekeeper needed to do a better job. We share the photos which also included dirity dishes that were in the cupboard. The staircase to our unit was also a bit difficult and suggested they should consider a repair. The owner's response was to deflect and completely ignore any of our concerns. No apoligy ever! There is much more to say but you limit the response.

Great historic spot

When I booked this stay, I didn’t realize how much history we would be surrounded by! Museums, shops and great restaurants within walking distance. Plenty of hiking all around with access to the Appalachian trail. Access to e-bikes. Breweries and groceries just a short drive away

Very Small but Cute

When staying at this property you have remember that it is an old building, therefore all noises travel easily, insects and other outside elements frequently make their way inside. The space is ideal for one or two people but do not expect to be able to stay in and cook, the kitchen lacks a useable amount of cookware. Watch your head! The ceilings and doorframes are low.

Great 3-night Stay

Quaint, cozy, and comfortable apartment in historical building in Harpers Ferry in the heart of the national park. Perfect base for exploring the town and its history. Several free museums and historical sites within walking distance. Park ranger free presentations at 2:00 PM were interesting and informative. Easy access. Responsive host. Very pleased with our choice of the 1799 Inn.
