Loved the property and room. Kind of an out of the way location but we were we needed to be for the River Walk. Didn’t have complimentary coffee or water in the lobby.

The property is very nice and well maintained. The lazy river and pool, including the water slide is tropical, peaceful, just great. Theres a small sandy beach area. Pool was warm. The grounds are beautiful and expansive. The trails are fun to walk and see butterflies. The rooms are well appointed and clean, again very nice. Our negatives were the restaurant was closed for remodel so no food. Restraunts were a drive from the property. Front desk said the restaurant was open when we arrived, it was actually closed for remodel, how did they not know that?The front desk was not the friendliest when we checked in. Did not give us towel cards or wrist bands to pool but definitely charged us the resort fee. Didnt give us any info on the property. Our room was in the last building and in the basement. Very dark and the patio had a view of a stone wall. The building was vacant. The lights didnt come on at dark so trying to see where you were going was difficult. We called and asked if we could be moved up so we could have a view. They said they would call us back. They didnt. We called 30 min later and they said there were no other rooms, they were full. Which was false, our building was dark with minimal people there. They said call back tomorrow. Terrible customer service from that particular staff. The other staff we encountered were nice. The 2 outdoor hot tubs were broken when we there, unfortunately.

The hotel lobby and shops were beautiful, and the access to the Alamo and shopping center were great! The hallways and elevators seem more like an old hotel with some bandaids on it to make it seem nicer. I know it’s historic, but I just think for the price it should have been nicer. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable, and we couldn’t get the room a good temp, it was either hot or cold. The location is amazing tho!
