"My husband and I spent our 40th wedding anniversary at the Cottage in the Woods. We travel often and mainly use VRBO if we are not staying in a hotel. "First time in a real B&B and it was wonderful. We were pleasantly greeted by our host and she showed us our room and explained to us, what to expect during our stay. Clay was very knowledgeable about the area, pointing out places to eat and how to reach all the hiking trails. She was a very good conversationalist. We had wonderful conversations about our lives, family and friends. We spent most of our time hiking, sight-seeing all the waterfalls, covered bridges and all the beautiful creations...

"We had the most wonderful time staying here at Cottage in the Woods! This charming bed and breakfast was absolutely delightful and lovely in every way. The hosts are so warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The setting was peaceful, breakfast was delicious, and it has great proximity to Ricketts Glen parking areas. Cottage in the Woods was the perfect retreat after a day of hiking the stunning waterfall trails. We will surely stay here again in the future!"

"If you’re looking for a great home kinda feel look no further. Karen and her staff treated us like family for our 2 night stay. The rooms were perfect size for my girlfriend and I and the bed was super comfortable. Parking was super easy, unloading/ loading was no issue. The meals that we had were great and the prices were more than fair. If you’re in the Benton area and looking for a place to stay DO NOT I repeat DO NOT look any further!!"

"This house was in a great location with awesome lakefront views while maintaining privacy, which is super rare for a lake property. I loved the historic charm and updates.The fall colors on the lake were incredible and a welcome sight to wake up to. A couple of notes that I did not pick up from the listing: the house is separated from the lake by a road and the boat house is in pretty rough shape, but this house was something special and we would recommend anyone to stay there."
