Fantastic rural space close to everything
Our party of 4 had a wonderful time at Drumsmittal School. It is close to The city center and Culloden. But it is in a lovely pastoral setting with sweet discoveries around every corner. Donnie and Ellie could not have been more gracious and welcoming, and we would look forward to visiting this place again.

Lovely stay
Absolutely love this property!! So close to Inverness (just a quick drive across the bridge), but in the beautiful countryside. We loved to sit in the living room and watch the sheep in the field behind the property and the birds. The property is clean, large, beautifully decorated. The breakfast and other goodies provided by Ellie and Donnie were perfect and a wonderful surprise!! Donnie and Ellie are so friendly and helpful! Wish we could have stayed longer!! If you get a chance to turn left out of the property (instead of right to go back towards Inverness), you will find the most beautiful rural landscape! We drove to Chanonry Point to see the dolphins and would have loved to spend more time driving the countryside. Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a central location for day trips (Culloden Battlefield/museum was just 15 minutes away, Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle were 25 minutes away), but a quiet retreat to return to for the evenings!

Wonderful place, great area
We were pleasantly greeted and shown around the apartment. Such a cool place to stay with everything we needed, including food/drink. Hosts were very helpful with suggestions for food and other info. (N Kessock hotel dinner was 5 star!) We loved the view of grazing sheep from the bedroom / living area windows. Wish we could have stayed here longer.

We loved staying @ School of Drums! Ellie & Donnie were so kind and considerate. The place is huge, with plenty of room for relaxing. It's not everyday one can look out the window and watch the sheep grazing in the field. Lovely lovely place.

From the start, great communication from host! Easy to find and get into with provided instructions. We loved the location-outside of town but not too far. Donnie kindly greeted us shortly after we arrived and showed us around the property. This place had everything we wanted and more: spacious, quiet, clean, beautiful scenery, full kitchen with breakfast foods provided, large family room, washing machine, 2 nice bathrooms, and parking right outside the door. Highly recommend!

A Peaceful Retreat
The School of Drums residence is a perfect location to rest and relax after a day of highland touring. The hosts provided all the items needed to be comfortable and independent. All appliances are up-to-date and the location is very convenient to Inverness. No more than a 10 minute drive. Special thanks to our host Donnie. He was a pleasure and always available to give vacation suggestions and provide a lending hand when needed. I highly recommend this location.

This was the absolute perfect spot for home-base in for our highland adventure. We traveled to both the east and west coasts. The property was clean, up to date and nestled in a country setting complete with the hillside of sheep out the large windows. Donnie and Ellie were the perfect host. Cosy end to our day
Donnie is a perfect gentleman and Ellie was very approachable and on point whenever we needed her. The house was immaculate and breakfast provided which saved us a late night trip to the shops. The garden is very beautiful and the atmosphere so quite and relaxed. The. Decor is beautiful and the location for us with a car was ideal for wherever we needed to be. Real love and attention is put into making this place a home away from home. Somewhere to chill after exploring the area. Kitchen is well equipped and us ladies were overjoyed to see a slow cooker! There is a lovely local pub and community hall with various activities like a market. Abundant with things to forage near the property for lovers of foraging. Beds are comfortable also plenty wildlife to see if lucky from the lovely big windows. We felt like we had privacy but also felt safe knowing Donnie and Ellie were near by as two women travelling alone. They really know the area and make some ex cellent suggestions. We loved it here and cannot wait to share this property as well as Scotland with our families.

A great place to stay!
This property was fabulous! Very roomy, clean, well-kept and well-appointed. Ellie and Donnie are very friendly and welcoming, and the location is perfect just off the A9 highway, but far enough from the bustle of Inverness to be quiet and peaceful. The village of North Kessock is 5 minutes drive away, and there's a good place to eat at the North Kessock Hotel, if you don't want to go back into Inverness. This is the perfect jumping-off place to explore the area around Inverness and Speyside, or to explore north toward John O'Groats and that area. If we come back to Inverness, we'll stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks, Donnie and Ellie!

Very nice property and owners very helpful. Left us some bread/milk/ juice etc which was very nice and unexpected. Excellent facilities and clean, modern utilities, mostly new. Enjoyed the wonderful peace and quiet after some noisy hotels. My only minor criticism was that the bed mattress was a little too soft for my liking

True Treasure
The Drumsittal School cottage is exceptional in all aspects. The cottage is spacious with comfortable beds, good showers and an inviting living room/sitting room. It’s located a bit north of Inverness and thus it’s quiet and serene with a pasture of sheep outside the windows. The host family is incredibly warm and helpful. Breakfast items were provided with eggs, milk, bread, jam, coffee etc. I highly recommend this cottage and wished we could have stayed longer than our two days.

We loved our stay. Donnie and Ellie have a beautiful place. It was pristine. It is a large place which we enjoy. There are many windows that let in sun making it bright and cheery. We apreciated the food provided for breakfast. Waking up in the morning looking out the windows at the sheep and the lush green landscape of Scotland is the best!
