The young gentleman who checked me in was a delight...the lady who checked me out was anything but! She hardly looked at me, took a call (without apology) and neither asked me about my stay or even said goodbye. The room was basic and the decor very dated. The toilet needed cleaned as did the floor in the toilet. To be honest it was an average hotel. The issue was as we asked for a superior room. The carpet had several stains but the double bed was 2 single beds put together using double/ king size sheets. Breakfast experience vastly different on two mornings - Saturday heaven but Sunday hell! Rooms are clean, well equipped and comfortable. The room was huge. The room was like your own bedroom except much bigger and with the biggest double bed I have ever slept in. We did not dine in the hotel in the evening but judging by the way it was very busy it was probably good. Breakfast was advertised as a buffet, but was actually a mixture of buffet and ordered food. Grilled Kippers. Excellent. Inverness and some good pubs are only a short walk away. ##### Steve
