The parking garage was great with beach access we could go back and forth to our car for beach items instead of dragging everything onto the beach . The website was a bit misleading on the sitting area for the beach view , at the end of property facing ocean was picnic tables not rocking chairs which ended up being nice we had some lunches out there . Some good cleaning would be beneficial in our room the vent in the bathroom had lint and lots of stuff hanging down from it falling off into the floors causing fan not to run good like it was stopped up , there is no literature in the rooms about the area or places we could eat which would be nice to have had some info . The room was really small for price the bed is right at the door it's very hard to get stuff in and out the door . Location though was perfect and staff were all very friendly and the salt water taffy treat upon checking in room was adorable ! We would stay again

On the plus side, it was very close to beach, walk to end of the hall and you're right there. It was also clean, no odor or bugs. But... the window had blinds, but no curtain and there was a light on outside the window all night, it was like trying to fall asleep in the middle of the day. We had a very hard time trying to sleep. Loud bar across the street with band playing to 10:00 each night. The room is small! The light for the bathroom is on the outside of the door, which means whenever someone wants to use it, the blinding light goes on first right in the face of person laying in bed 3 feet away. The decor of this place is delapidated 1950 style. And there is no pool, regardless of what the web says. It's a 4x8 concrete hole on the 3rd floor, a real joke. Cleaning changed used towels after 1st night, but not the 2nd.

The staff and rooms were great. I love staying here because of its convenience to the beach and the areas around it. They do have outdoor concerts at the Windjammer next door which is another reason I love staying here. A few of our pillow cases were dirty on the back side but other than that, the stay was perfect. I would stay here again.

Access to the beach was amazing. If you want to do any site seeing it is about a 30 minute drive into Charleston.

The staff was very friendly, room was extremely clean & beds were super comfy. Wish the blinds blocked out the lights outside the room a bit more.. Great access to the beach & parking garage underneath (as well as off-site parking lot which was perfect for our huge Ram pickup truck). Good air conditioning, mini fridge & beach towels. Cleaning staff was too aggressive the morning at 10:55am, knocking & trying to rush us out 3 times. That was really the only downside.

If you have children or enjoy going to bed early, I would HIGHLY recommend checking the Windjammer’s event schedule prior to booking. This is right next door and extremely loud when they have performances on the outdoor stage. Also, there are no curtains on the windows so the outside light completely illuminates the room at night. Overall just not a child friendly place. The room was clean but definitely dated. If you enjoy concerts and plan to stay up late on vacation this is the perfect hotel for you! FYI the beach access is NOT easily accessible due to a dune on the left side of the walkway. My elderly mother had a difficult time getting up the walkway. If you need easier access you can go down to the public access next to Coconut Joes.

The location is excellent. Our room was not cleaned , the breakfast was terrible and the staff was rude and not responsive to our concerns.

Have been going to this hotel for quite a while. New parking fee is rediculous and the room was over $400 a night, hardly anybody there. For $400 a night should be able to get ocean-front

While the accommodations were clean, as indicated by the strong bleach smell, the building is in dire need of repairs, updates, paint and working hair dryer, lamps, places for plugging in a phone, one could barely open the door and squeeze by the bed. Parking is not great either. The neighboring business had a live band playing until 9pm- would have been nice to know that in advance of our stay. I would not recommend this place.

All good, except our “partial view” of the ocean & beachfront was from a small side window onto a shared walkway - no balcony of our own to sit on & enjoy. We can see the beach & ocean tho… love the retro poster artworks! Staff friendly…

It was a nice stay and super convenient with our 1 year old to get to the beach. Will definitely stay here again. If you’re a light sleeper, I recommend bringing a sound machine or else live music will wake you up in the middle of the night.

Staff is very nice. The hotel is clean but rooms are a bit on the small size. The hotel is right on the beach and right next to The Windjammer. Being right next to a concert bar, don't expect to get an early nights sleep. It's quiet after the concerts are over though. There are some nice but small bars and restaurants very near. Parking is an issue since there are limited spots in the neighborhood. Parking in the street is free during offseason.

A nice little spot
Our room was clean, the check in was painless. The pool was closed and lots of construction so beach access closed too. Parking was plentiful and good restaurants within walking distance.

We had a great experience, Think you will, also.
First time staying here. Off season, so it was very quiet and staff was very attentive to us. Everything exceeded our expectations, so we will definitely recommend this hotel. PS, they have a great pancake breakfast.

For ocean front rooms, book direct with hotel
After I arrived, I learned that the oceanfront rooms were not occupied, they just are only available through the hotel directly. All of the rooms available on third-party sites are on the side of the hotel without a view of the beach. There are 2 picnic tables on the back patio they give you access to the beach and a boardwalk to the beach. But the oceanfront rooms are quite nice. None of the ocean front rooms have two beds… only one king bed, and no cots are available. The breakfast is a really nice value. Nice that rooms have microwave and refrigerator
