7.2/10 Good! (752 reviews)
Though it was obvious that this hotel had seen better days, as the town of La Junta itself had, parts of the property had been remodeled and upgraded. The bed and furniture in my room were fairly standard, modern hotel issue. The bathroom had been remodeled and was clean and sanitary. However, the rest of the so-called amenities were missing or subpar. The WiFi in my room never worked and no one made much of an effort to solve the problem. The pool was drained and the swing set playground was choked with weeds. The worst thing, though, was the breakfast aspirationally called a “continental breakfast.” The first morning I went to get my breakfast, I was handed a paper sack with a small, frozen sausage and egg biscuit and a knock off version of a Nutri-grain fruit bar. To drink, I helped myself to a cup of coffee and a small bottle of Welch’s juice. I was instructed on how to warm up my sandwich using the microwave in my room. Unacceptable! I did not return for breakfast for the remainder of my stay.
According to the hotel information on their website, accessed through the Expedia app, the hotel provided locally sourced breakfast food, free wifi, a pool, and rental bicycles. None of these were available during my stay.
I feel cheated out of a lot of money that I paid for something nonexistent. This hotel does not deserve to be on the Expedia recommended stays in La Junta and I should receive a partial refund of my money.
