Top in cleanliness in my view of where we stayed, we only stay one night., there is a lovely cafe (walkable distance from the hotel) that’s serve amazing breakfast and pancakes and very friendly staff.

This hotel is clean and quiet, with very friendly staff. It's pretty centrally located, with a bus stop right in front, and it's just a few blocks from a major subway stop. It's only a few blocks from Nijo-jo Castle (make reservations online, to see inside). There's a 7-11 across the street, and if you want to stock up your room with groceries, there's a Life store a few blocks away. They have EXCELLENT sushi and other prepared foods, at very low prices.
