Room was clean and good size. It was very easy to take the tram into town from the hotel which is good because this area is a bit of a food desert. Staff were very friendly.

I was given a room on the top floor. It was very comfortable and had everything I needed. As someone who works from their hotel room the desk arrangement isn’t ideally suited to that but I made it work. The restaurant was fabulous food and drinks and clearly was a destination spot for locals which meant there was a really buzzy atmosphere. There was also a wet bag in the room for those who swim in the river but I used it for my gym gear. Tea and coffee facilities are outside the room on the landing which was a bit quirky but nonetheless was a great facility. The staff throughout were excellent and the whole atmosphere was of a place where people enjoyed working. I was visiting Barfüsserplatz for work so the hotel is not right in the centre but a 10 min walk up/down an incline past all the lovely shops. A big supermarket just nearby. Really enjoyable stay and no doubt will go back.

Unfortunately, our experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing, particularly regarding safety and customer service. Throughout our stay, we experienced repeated electrical failures, accompanied by loud bangs and visible sparks coming from the bathroom light. Alarmingly, my friend was showering when one of these incidents occurred, posing a serious potential safety risk. Although we were informed that maintenance work was taking place, we received no prior warning about the electricity failures. On one occasion, we had to ask twice before staff restored the power. Despite the problem occurring repeatedly, staff made no effort to contact us or provide updates. We were left to chase them ourselves. By Saturday evening, we were finally offered another room, but this was far too late. Additionally, staff entered our room without any indication that housekeeping was required. Yet when we specifically requested our room to be cleaned on Saturday morning, nobody attended. Overall, the lack of communication, poor customer service and, most importantly, serious electrical safety concerns made this an unacceptable experience. Very disappointing.
