“Stayed here Mon-Fri. My initial opinion of this place was very good. Staff were very friendly and appeared efficient. Check-in was easy. Rooms are very good with a ceiling fan and additional tower fan in the room which was helpful during the recent spell of hot weather. Breakfast was good. Couldn’t connect my laptop to their wifi so had to use mobile network. Food in the restaurant was good and delivered piping hot but service is slow and food is a bit pricey. “Its a nice hotel but not worth the money we paid. Positives -nice activities for the kids in the holidays, rooms were clean and a good size. Negatives - no handwash in the bathroom, one tiny bottle of shower gel for the 4 of us, we had to ask for more at reception! We couldn't go in the pool when we arrived because you need to re-book, kids were very disappointed. The breakfast was £18 for adults each and was very basic, nothing special about it. “My overall assessment on the stay would rate it no more than a three star. There are some minor maintenance issues that need to be looked into. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Food was very good and the full English was excellent. The idea of filling out what you wanted for breakfast the previous day was not really how I would like it as this might change, I would prefer to decide on the day. Conclusion: The accommodation was a little tired and in need of a spruce up.”

“Really nice hotel and beautiful location. Rooms were clean and well maintained with great decor. Only gripe would be that there was a wedding on the night and they placed us directly opposite the main room where they were celebrating and it was extrememly noisey. Would of been better if they placed us further away to cater for everyone. This also meant we couldnt eat when we wanted and use the lounge or restuarant or have food to our room due to chefs being busy . More information on the event……

“We had a great one night stay at Berwick Lodge on a a Monday to celebrate a birthday. The sun shone and the Housemartins flew happily around whilst we sat on the terrace having a cocktail. The à la carte menu was fantastic - well worth the cost and breakfast was very tasty. Will definitely stay again in one of the other fantastic looking rooms.”
