Cafe with a viewing area of Solent Airport situated on the former Daedalus base. The Lee-on-the-Solent coastguard helicopter is based here and is seen taking off on another rescue and support mission. The cafe has reasonable prices, nice drinks and snacks and the bonus is it's the opposite side of the airfield from the school where I teach, so plenty of opportunities for our young learners.

"As I expected, breath taking views, peaceful and tranquil. Sam’s Sunflower trip was very enjoyable and a hit with the children and adults of all ages. Farm stores to buy fruit and vegetables and all things delicious. "

The location is wonderful, as close to on the beach that a property could be. A private gate to walk straight onto the beach and at high tide the water comes through this gate. "Great location, quiet and relaxing with Sandown Beach just down the road and a great base for exploring the island. Pool was a great addition, little one loved it and was very welcomed during the week we stayed which was nice and sunny. Friendly host and home equipped with everything you would need, including nice comfy beds and outside loungers. Highly recommended and would definitely stay again!"

"We loved to stay at this hotel despite other bad reviews. Only big problem the heat. The hotel is not ready when it comes to hot days. There where conditioners but didn't really worked and the rooms where very hot at night and during the day. But breakfast was excellent and so the rest of our stay"

"Very helpful staff. Really polite. Great location for fun fair and sea front walls. Great breakfast offerings but don't leave it too late, as they don't seem to re fill it after half 9 and drinks and pastries tend to have run out. Just get there earlier. Nice pool for an hour now and then, towels provided."
