Carol the owner had messaged me earlier in the day with directions which was a nice welcome. She had also given us a lovely recommendation for somewhere to eat that evening. We really enjoyed our stay. "

The smart TV was useless as it wasn't connected to the internet and despite accessing settings to input password it still didn't work and we had no ariel for even basic channels.The outside bathroom was freezing and had no sufficient light, to use shower.There was a smell in cabin and a layer of dust...

"The owner only sent entry instructions after i emailed the day before asking about them. Hotels.com said pets stayed for free but we were charged £7 per night. We couldn't get the shower to warm up. There were no instructions for anything in the cabin. The beds are very small doubles. Strangely there was no kettle in the lodge. It needs a lot of TLC. One positive is the setting is stunning. It's well overpriced for what you get. "

The room itself was clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable — a perfect space to unwind after a long day. The bed was cozy, the bathroom spotless, and all the facilities were in good working order. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared and tidy, which made for a restful night’s sleep. I also had a chance to try the food in the bar, and it exceeded expectations. The menu was varied, and everything I ordered was tasty and well-presented. It’s always a bonus when hotel dining is genuinely enjoyable rather than just convenient, and in this case, it really was. Breakfast the next morning was another highlight, with a wide selection of options available, including well-prepared vegetarian choices. It was fresh, plentiful, and served in a pleasant dining area — a great way to start the day. Overall, this hotel ticked all the boxes for a comfortable and pleasant stay.
