Not in Oban (as Expedia classifies it)! Lovely secluded location at the end of a quiet loch. Staff were lovely, but a little hard to find at times. Weather unfortunately wasn't in our favour but could imagine it would be lovely in dryer conditions.

This is a cute little pub and hotel on the water. It has great views and wonderful food. The breakfast is huge. My only complaint would be that the beds were not comfortable. my husband And I could both feel the bed's springs.

The Galley of Lorne Inn was easy to find with great staff and cozy rooms. The restaurant/pub was lively and fun, breakfast was hearty and the people were all charming to deal with. Recommend if you're passing through the area, even if it's just for the pub!

Cons: Use the large room overlooking the beautiful views for the dining area. Buy a decent mattress,
The hotel was in a lovely position unfortunately our room was the only room without a window. The bed I slept in was very uncomfortable, the mattress was very soft. However the food although limited due to our late check in was very good. The young lady who checked us in & waited on table that evening & breakfast was an absolute pleasure nothing was to much trouble.

Hotel on the edge of tranquil loch

We chose this hotel primarily for it's location and the fact that it allowed dogs in the room. We needed an hotel near to Oban as we were arriving there by ferry in late afternoon and didn't want to be travelling too long after with a 5 year old boy who needed his tea. It was about a forty minute drive so we had time to check in have a break then head for dinner. Check-in was slightly longer than expected as the bar man was doubling up for check-in and someone arrived just before us. The hotel has a nice menu and a good selection of wines and beers. The location is beside a finger of Loch Craignish and is very quiet - just along from a Marina. My only criticism was that the room that we selected, Iona, didn't have a window in the bedroom, only in the bathroom. After booking, the hotel manager contacted us to tell us this as, he said, it wasn't possible to make this information available through Expedia (but possible on other websites). It wasn't a problem for us

Pros: Location, location, location.
Arrived late afternoon and had to depart early the next morning, but great location and long summer evenings in Northern Scotland helped enjoy the great menu and hospitality.

We spent a lovely night here on Wednesday 3 June. Room was very comfortable. Staff very attentive from moment we arrived and couldn't do enough for us. Owner (Andrew) spent time talking to each table of diners ensuring that all their needs were being attended to and food was to their enjoyment. The location is very peaceful, hardly a vehicle passing by so ideal if you want total peace and relaxation. We will certainly return at some later date.

Pros: the beautiful situation in a pretty village ,the views of the water, pleasant room, good food , welcoming owner and staff.
Location: oban within striking distance and sailings from there to iona and the isles---a very good hub
beautiful situation ,wonderful scenery for exploring and sailing, picturesque village, interesting local history e,g, kilmartin and gravestones of the lords of the isles plus dunadd fort with ring and cup markings.we were looking forward to two nights stay, had a very tasty evening meal ,then the storm struck and there was no light or heating, the hotel suffered no damage but we decided that after the funeral we were attending in lochgilphead, we would return home reluctantly.would very much enjoy a return visit in better weather.
