"Internet access was poor to none. There were bugs in the ice in the ice machine. The cold water out of the tap never got colder than tepid. Otherwise, all was good and clean. Outside noise level was surprisingly quiet in spite of our room being on the truck stop side. "

"It was warm in the room when we arrived but it did cool down by bed time. There were no cups in the room but I was able to get them from the front desk. The only other issue is lighting. I am legally blind and the canister lighting, though stylish, is not sufficient. That isn’t anyone’s fault but I want to bring that to your attention. All in all, it was a great stay "

"I recently stayed at The Heart of Huxley Bay fishing lake house, and I have to say, it was a truly lovely experience. The house itself has that cozy cabin vibe, decorated with warmth and a touch of charm that immediately makes you feel at home. Each morning, sipping coffee on the porch while taking in the stunning views of the lake was a highlight. Fishing was, of course, a big part of our stay. The lake is teeming with fish, and it was such a joy to cast a line right from the dock. I caught several decent-sized catfish during our trip, which made for some great meals in the evenings. What I appreciated most was the peace and quiet of the location. It’s very serene, perfect for unwinding and escaping the hustle and bustle of daily life. The area around the lake house has some nice roads too, which we explored in the afternoons.The kitchen was well-equipped, making it easy to prepare meals, and there’s even a grill outside for those beautiful evenings by the lake. The hosts were incredibly friendly and ensured that everything we needed was at our fingertips.Overall, if you’re looking for a relaxing getaway filled with fishing and beautiful scenery, The Heart of Huxley Bay is definitely worth considering. I left feeling refreshed and already planning my next visit!"

"Affordable, clean, friendly staff. The breakfast bar was a little low but both mornings I went down a group of 5 men had just gotten their food so they probably didn’t have time to restock. Overall a great stay. "
