Balcones del Caribe is a beautiful spot with an excellent location and easy access to the beach. The complex feels very safe, and the staff were always helpful when we needed general information. My only concerns were about the condition of the village: the back door didn’t have a proper lock, the bathroom door wasn’t closing well, and the safe box wasn’t working during our stay. Overall, it’s a lovely place with great potential—just needs a bit more attention to maintenance.

The facilities in the common areas (e.g., pools, lobby, restaurants, theater, etc.) were in very good condition; however, this is NOT the case for the guest rooms. The guest rooms lacked maintenance. (For example: the shower had only one door, so water splashed all over the floor outside the shower area when showering; the chrome on the bathroom faucets was worn.; one of the electrical outlet covers in the room was loose, and when I unplugged the cell phone chargers, the cover came off, leaving a hole in the wall; the shower gel and conditioner dispensers were loose, and one of them fell to the floor when I tried to use the gel; we asked the housekeeping staff to refill the dispenser because it was empty, but they never did; the air conditioning vent grille was loose all over; it looked like it was going to fall off at any moment; the door handle in one of the rooms was loose and fell off completely; we had to call to have it repaired; one of the curtains was partially torn at the top; the window in one of the rooms had shattered glass.... the mini-bar fridge sometimes dripped water...
