"Overall the property was great! It’s well kept, beautiful and well equipped. The food at the buffet was good and abundant. I wish the would sit people when entering the buffet as having to scout an empty/clean table to sit down and eat can be challenging and discouraging. The food at the three gourmet restaurants was subpar with very limited selections and the preparation, plus the presentation was less than appealing. The beach is very relaxing and peaceful as it’s private and there are no vendors roaming it, however, it’s shallow and not as crystal clear as other beaches in the area. A lot of seaweed wash up at shore. The multiple pools is a big plus. There are multiple activities held throughout the day so there’s always something to do. The staff were friendly and helpful with basic needs. The phones in the rooms didn’t work at all throughout the 5 days I stood at the resort, forcing me to physically walk down to reception to ask questions or express concerns (I was in 2 different rooms due to an incident)."

"We had a wonderful stay at Xeliter Green One in Puerto Plata. The property is modern, clean, peaceful, and perfect if you prefer a quieter atmosphere over a crowded all-inclusive resort. The rooms were spacious, good beds, the grounds were beautiful, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The beach was absolutely gorgeous, and my family and I spent most of our time there! Most of the hotels are located within the Playa Dorada area, which also has a nearby mall and activities for families. My 4-year-old especially loved the horse carriage ride around the area for a few bucks. A few areas could still improve, particularly the food options, some minor maintenance details, and the WiFi, which was not always reliable. However, overall it was still a relaxing and comfortable experience. It’s a great option for families or couples looking for a calm getaway in a beautiful setting. Important note: it’s about an hour and a half drive from Cibao International Airport (Santiago de los Caballeros), so plan accordingly if you’re arriving via STI. Renting a car is definitely worth it if you’re comfortable driving, as taxis can cost a bit more. Uber is also not very reliable or efficient in the DR, so be prepared to spend a little extra on transportation if you plan to use it to get around."
