Check in was all OK. We got our rooms at 3 pm, an upgrade to a "better Ocean view" be it with two double beds instead of a King. This is where the fun begins...it quickly became obvious that the rooms Air Conditioner did not work! Heat index is 97F!
We were told by the maintenance personnel we asked in the building that the building was condemned and there would be no AC.
After some time at the check in desk we were given different rooms...no ocean view but first floor swim up. Most of Day #1 spent battling this issue.
Day #2 we discover,,,the gym/fitness area is closed, along with two of the 4 restaurants. That is to say for the next 6 days we have a choice of the same average buffet food or Italian or Asian food.
Day #3 Air Conditioning stops in all the rooms in our building, We are told they have no idea when or whether it will be fixed. The two couples we went with decide to purchase hotel rooms in order to get some sleep. I decide to find someone and politely tell them that this is totally unacceptable and my review will be accurate and reflect this. Magically that evening the Air conditioning comes on in the 3 rooms we occupy!
On a bright note...The food in the only two restaurants available was pretty good. No AC or fans in any of them...get ready!
What we learned from staff, previous guests and observed was this resort is in need of major renovation
and seems to be making cost cutting efforts at the expense of the guest!
